DENTURES AND PARTIALS
Dentures and partial dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth. They are custom-designed to fit your mouth and needs. For those with many missing teeth dentures improve the shape of the face and provide a brand-new smile.
Dentures
Dentures are necessary when a patient has such advanced gum disease and tooth decay that their teeth must be extracted. They are made to look as natural as possible but will never look and feel exactly the same as natural teeth.
Modern dentures are made from a hard resin. The structure to hold them in place is made of a similar resin or a flexible polymer and are custom-made to look like and fit snugly to a patient’s natural gum line. There are a few options available.
Dr. Eisenman will determine if dentures are the best solution for you or if other options may work for you, such as implants, crowns or a partial denture.
Partial Dentures
Partial dentures are a dental solution to replace missing teeth when some natural teeth remain. They are easily removed and help prevent your natural teeth from changing position over time.
Partials usually consists of replacement teeth attached to a pink-colored acrylic base that is either connected by a framework attached to existing teeth.
With a partial denture it will be easier to chew, and nearby teeth will be prevented from moving toward an empty space in your mouth. Partials also keep cheek and lips from sagging inward toward the empty space due to missing teeth.
